This project began when I discovered an old short story written by my grandfather, published decades ago in my college's archived newspaper. To preserve and celebrate his work, I designed a fully illustrated book edition of the story as a gift for him and our family.
The layout emulates the feel of aged, handwritten journals with warm paper textures, classic serif and script fonts, and hand-drawn illustrations of key items mentioned in the narrative. Every design choice was made to honor the era, evoke nostalgia, and highlight the story’s emotional weight. This piece reflects my skills in archival design, book layout, and storytelling through visual history.
